EFC

The Expected Family Contribution, or EFC, is the amount that the student’s family is expected to contribute toward the Cost of Attendance (COA). The EFC, together with the student’s COA, helps determine the student’s need for Federal funds. The number is calculated by the CPS. You must have an EFC from CPS before you can disburse Title IV funds.
