The button bar is located at the bottom of your browser window. This bar will ALWAYS be present. At any point in the training, you can access its features. The following is a list of the buttons and their functions.
Exit - The Exit button closes the training and returns you
to the training's home page in your web browser.
Menu - The Menu button returns you to the menu for the current module. If you
selected the Menu button now you would return to the Overview menu. If you select
the Menu button on the Module menu, you will be taken to the Main Menu.
Tasks - The Tasks button opens a list of tasks in the lesson. They are the tasks
that you see in the beginning of the lesson (Learn How to Navigate the Training,
etc.) Select on a task to be taken to the start of that task.
Help - The Help button opens a screen with reminders about how to use and navigate
this training.
Resources - The Resources button opens a page of resources including websites
and the Glossary.
Backward - Moves you to the previous page in the lesson.
Forward - Moves you to the next page in the lesson.
Put your mouse on or tab through the menu bar to read the labels.
The Main Menu is made of six links. Each link represents a module of the software or a major topic in the course.
Within each module is a list of lessons. You can take these lessons in any order, though we strongly suggest taking them in the order listed.
The Glossary can be found by selecting the Resources button on the button bar.
On the Glossary page is a list of letters. Select one of those letters to see a list of terms. Then select a term.
The definition for each term will appear on a new page. The definition page will list the term, the definition, and may list lessons you should take to learn more.
This training requires that you have EDExpress for Windows Release 2.0 and a specific training version of EDExpress installed on your system. If you haven't downloaded the training version or EDExpress for Windows Release 2.0, go to our download page for links to both and instructions.
Once you have both programs installed you can begin using the training.
While in the training version of EDExpress you cannot also use EDExpress for Windows Release 2.0. You should close the training version before attempting to use EDExpress for Windows Release 2.0. If you have EDExpress for Windows Release 2.0 open, you should close it before attempting to open the training version of EDExpress.
When using the training you will read two types of text. The first type is explanation text. The explanation text will teach you about some aspect of processing or EDExpress.
You will also receive pecific instructions. You will recognize these instructions because they will usually start with verbs such as "Select," "Choose," "Mark," "Enter," or "Type." To perform these you will need to toggle between the training pages that are displayed in your browser and the EDExpress Training version. To do this press the Alt and Tab keys simultaneously. This is a standard Windows feature that toggles between open programs. If you have other programs open you may have to hold the Alt key down while pressing the Tab key more than once to reach the EDExpress training version.
The instructions telling you what to select and enter in the software may start with the main EDExpress screen. This assumes that you are logged in to the software. To do this, see the Introduction to EDExpress lesson.
Once you've taken the Introduction to EDExpress lesson your User ID is "ALEXM" and your Password is "23FIDO89".
