Test Drive the ISIR Analysis Tool
People wishing to utilize the ISIR Analysis Tool can first take it for a test drive.  To get started click the link above to download the PDF file.  In this training you will learn how to run reports and view data from the ISIR Analysis Tool demonstration site.  Additionally, you will learn a new approach for identifying parameters for selecting student records for Federal and/or discretionary verification.

  • Familiarize participants with running and analyzing the Standard Reports available in the ISIR Analysis Tool
  • Use data from a QA school to analyze one verification criteria
  • Teach participants to run a shared report
  • Review QA requirements for the ISIR Analysis Tool

Creating a Flat ASCII file and Uploading Records 

How to Use the Details Report (ZIP File) – This session will:

  • Familiarize participants with running and analyzing verification criteria using the 2011-12 Details Report
  • Use a Details Report from a QA school and construct a Pivot Table to analyze User-Specified Field 15 (Verification Criteria)
  • Provide Step by Step Instructions for constructing the Pivot Table so participants can run the same report to analyze their own verification criteria

Preconference Recap: Understanding Institutional Profiles and New Analysis Capabilities (ZIP File) – This session will:

  • Familiarize participants with interpreting their verification profiles
  • Provide information about the upcoming enhancements to the ISIR Analysis Tool for 2012-13

Creating User Specified Fields to Track Institutional Verification Criteria  (ZIP - 18 MB)

  • Familiarize participants with creating and populating user specified fields
  • Provide guidance for creating Custom Reports
  • Teach participants to access Shared Reports
  • Teach participants to analyze verification data
  • Review QA requirements for the ISIR Analysis Tool

Interpreting Institutional Profiles, Analyzing the Effectiveness and Efficacy of Institutional Verification, and Review of QA Program-Wide Results from 2008-09 (ZIP - 8 MB)

How to Analyze Your Data with the ISIR Analysis Tool

Over the last several years Federal Student Aid has delivered multiple training sessions and produced a number of documents that provide guidance on how to use the ISIR Analysis Tool. We have come to realize, however, that many schools have a hard time applying this training to the analysis of their own data. To help schools get started, we have prepared this analytic "menu."
