Quality Assurance Program

Biennial Analysis Cycle

Schools participating in the QA Program follow a two year analysis cycle. In award years that start with an odd number (e.g., 2011-12, 2013-14), schools analyze changes to ISIR information among records that met their school verification criteria.  During award years that begin with an even number (e.g., 2010-11, 2012-13), schools continue to verify all the records that meet their school selection criteria, but focus their analysis on changes to ISIR information stemming from their verification of a random sample of all aid applicants.

Sampling

Assistance in accounting for attrition in your QA sample

To help ensure schools sample a sufficient number of aid applicants this spring to provide at least 350 records to analyze next fall in the ISIR Analysis Tool, the QA Team has created a simple Excel worksheet. This worksheet allows schools to enter the number of records they want to be able to analyze and the percentage of initially sampled students who will wind up providing the required documentation.

To use simply replace the current entries in red with the values for your school. Base your estimate for percentage completing on past experience.
